GT Show (Suzhou Tuning Show)

Definition and Historical Standing
The GT Show, formally known as the "GT Show China Auto Culture and Fashion Show", is a premier automotive tuning culture exhibition founded in 2017 by automotive modification media outlet "GaiLianWang". It serves as the flagship event of the GT Show nationwide exhibition series. The brand traces its origins back to an automotive tuning fringe event held at the 2014 F1 Chinese Grand Prix in Shanghai, subsequently debuting as a featured showcase in 2015 before officially establishing itself in Suzhou in 2017 as an independent exhibition. Following nearly a decade of growth, GT Show has evolved from a specialist tuning showcase into the largest modified car exhibition in Asia, widely hailed across the industry as the "Cradle of China’s Trend Tuning" and the "Ultimate Stage for Car Lifestyles".

2026 Exhibition Overview
The 2026 GT Show takes place from 27 to 29 March at the Suzhou International Expo Centre under the theme "Boundaryless Trendy Tuning, Igniting Passion". Covering a massive total area of 120,000 square metres, the show draws over 450 exhibitors and more than 1,000 global aftermarket and tuning brands. Exhibits span the entire industry ecosystem, including bespoke full-vehicle builds, performance tuning, 4x4 off-road setups, auto detailing and car care, smart mobility tech, and lifestyle merchandise, with visitor turnout projected to exceed 150,000 attendees. Admission is strictly managed via a real-name registration system, requiring visitors to scan their identity cards at the turnstiles for automated verification, with no physical paper tickets sold on-site.

Floorplan Layout and Key Highlights
The event spans 9 indoor exhibition halls and 4 outdoor zones, comprising 90,000 square metres of indoor floor space and 20,000 square metres of outdoor display grounds. Close to a thousand custom-built machines are featured on-site, spanning JDM builds, high-performance supercars, hardcore off-road rigs, and classic retro restomods. Standout builds on display include the custom GTR R32 co-created with Shawn Yue, the movie prop car from Pegasus 3, an RE Amemiya widebody RX-7 FD, and Toshi Ichiraku's famed ROUGH RHYTHM RWB 993, with each display car highlighting the meticulous craftsmanship of its builders.

The Off-Road Culture Zone spans over 50,000 square metres, leading the domestic market in both scale and exhibitor calibre. Leading 4x4 off-road names including GWM TANK, Mengshi, K-MAN, YAKIMA, and EcoFlow showcase bespoke off-road builds and expedition gear, while concurrently hosting the "Go Wild Party Off-road Utopia" forum featuring industry stalwarts sharing overlanding stories.

The Exhibitor Portfolio covers the full spectrum of the aftermarket industry: suspension and coilovers feature KW, Bilstein, TEIN, and CUSCO; sport rims and wheels include BBS, RAYS, OZ Racing, and WORK Wheels; braking systems feature AP Racing, Brembo, Endless, and DIXCEL; engine tuning and standalone ECUs feature HKS, GReddy, and AEM; interior and motorsport gear include RECARO, MOMO, BRIDE, and Sparco; while renowned international coachbuilders and tuning houses include TECHART, BRABUS, ABT, Liberty Walk, RWB, and Mansory.

Fringe Events and Interactive Experiences
The exhibition pioneers a tripartite model integrating "B2B Trade + Car Culture + Lifestyle Trends". Industry events feature the "Powering the Future" Aftermarket Consumption Trends Summit, Trendy Auto Detailing Forum, International Buyer Matchmaking Session, and Global Expansion Seminar, centring on discussions such as mild EV customisation, off-road builds, and cross-border partnerships. The B3 Petrolhead Utopia zone features special appearances by celebrity car enthusiasts including Shawn Yue and Sunny Wang alongside daily themed sharing sessions. The grounds also host dedicated racing simulator zones, mini go-kart tracks, and scale model diecast showcases featuring exclusive limited-edition drops from Maisto, Hot Wheels, and Tomica.

The newly inaugurated Tuning Shopping Festival brings together 15 premier aftermarket brands including HKS, KW, DIXCEL, Eibach, and iPE to showcase over 40 flagship performance parts, offering direct subsidies of up to RM20,000 per item and massive discounts of up to 60% off, providing enthusiasts with a seamless one-stop shopping experience for performance parts. Meanwhile, the newly introduced GTWAVE Urban Sports & Lifestyle Zone is open to the public free of charge, hosting over 20 trendy lifestyle and recreational activities including Thai milk tea pop-ups, exotic pet displays, 3D printing showcases, tennis, pickleball, and stand-up paddleboarding.

Industry Significance and Future Roadmap
GT Show founder Wu Zhonghua highlighted that the 2026 edition introduced the theme of "Automotive Tuning & Innovation", stressing that vehicles must move beyond mere point-A to point-B mobility to deliver true emotional value: "Car tuning and motorsport have always gone hand in hand. With a solid foundation in the aftermarket scene, China's motorsport ecosystem will undoubtedly thrive." International brands made up a massive 67% of the exhibition showcase, signalling the Chinese tuning industry's strategic shift from import reliance toward global technical synergy. New energy vehicle marques such as Luxeed showcased modified builds for the first time, marking the integration of smart EVs into the custom car culture. The 2027 edition is slated to take place from 26 to 28 March at the Suzhou International Expo Centre, spanning an estimated 110,000 square metres with over 218,000 visitors and 461 participating exhibitors.
